Halligan joins Weil, Gotshal to Head the firm's
U.S. National Appellate Team. Ms. Halligan
is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown
Law Center, and a former law clerk on the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the
U.S. Supreme Court (Breyer, J.). From 2001-2007,
she served as Solicitor General of New York State
where she managed 45 appellate attorneys, oversaw
the preparation of roughly 120 submissions in
federal and state appellate courts, and served
as counsel of record in over 40 U.S. Supreme Court
matters. |

Courville leaves Susman Godfrey to join white-hot environmental
boutique Jackson Fischer Gilmour & Dobbs. Courville is
a '98 magna cum laude graduate of Houston Law Center,
with a Ph.d in Geophysics from Cambridge, who practiced for
ten years at Susman Godfrey. Jackson Fischer handles
some of the country's largest natural resource damages cases,
representing states, ports and other public and private sector
clients in giant contamination cases, and has quickly built
a reputation as the premier 'go to' firm for water clean-ups.

Marcus recruits Shane Kimzey (Texas '97) to be the
next Global Director of Litigation, for CEVA Logistics.
CEVA, which acquired EGL, Inc., is a non-listed
freight-forwarding and global logistics company, based
in the Netherlands, with U.S. headquarters in Houston,
and is owned by affiliates of Apollo Management, L.P.,
one of the world's leading private equity investors.
Marcus
